Accessibility

Best Practice Network is committed to making the information and resources provided via its web site accessible to all users.

We are aware of the types of adaptive technology used by people with disabilities and are redesigning pages across our website to ensure compatibility with as many of these systems as possible. Please help by letting us know if you are using assistive technology and our website format interferes with your ability to access the information, contact webissues@bestpracticenet.co.uk with the addresses of the pages concerned and details of your requirements.

We aim to be standards compliant and follow general principles of usability in order to help all visitors to our website. This includes keeping text clear, formatting layouts and tables, providing all graphic images with an "alt" tag and a short description that is intuitive to the user, and avoiding vague statements such as "click here" and instead making sure links adequately describe where they go . The use of frames is avoided since they cannot be read intelligently by screen readers, create navigation problems, and are not supported by all browsers. The incorporation of an access key function is also planned.

Best Practice Network web pages are tested in a variety of web browsers and on different operating systems. Although the site is best viewed in a modern standards compliant browser it should degrade gracefully (being both accessible and navigable) in older browsers.
