Coaching Service

We believe that everyone can gain from coaching and that children and young people will benefit as a result.

Who is this for:

Anyone who wants to be coached!

Our team is able to provide for the range of people who work with young people, be they leaders, teachers, lecturers, early years professionals, teaching assistants, governors, playworkers, social workers, educational consultants or advisers in schools, academies, colleges, universities and early years settings.

What are the benefits:

Our view is that coaching is a highly effective form of self-directed professional development. We have found it helps:

  • clarify thinking and progress towards goals
  • understand, improve and strengthen relationships
  • understand ourselves, chose and control our responses
  • explore new ways of communicating on challenging matters
  • maintain our balance in the face of multiple pressures
  • become better coaches for others
  • feel more fulfilled at work

Many schools, settings and organisations now provide and promote coaching and we are keen and able to support this through our training for coaches, performance management and supervision coaching. We believe that many people particularly value the confidential environment provided by a professional coaching service, which does not feedback to colleagues or line managers.

How is it delivered:

The Coaching Service is available in different ways: face-to-face, by telephone or Skype. We recommend a face-to-face meeting for the exploratory session.

What does it cost:

Our fees vary according to your position or situation.

  • Exploratory session: £30 - £60
  • One hour coaching session: £65 - £120
  • Discounted rate (5% saving) for booking 3 x one hour sessions: £185.95 - £359.95

Agree the number of coaching sessions you need with your coach and Best Practice Network will then issue a contract and invoice for this at the appropriate rate.

Coaching Supervision and Support

Supervision coaching is coaching for coaches. It helps to ensure that coaches work at their best. As school-based coaching becomes more accepted, coaches, especially senior ones will need to maintain their lead within the school. Supervision coaching enables this to happen.

Coaching for Individuals

Individual coaching enables you to benefit from skilful and effective coaching in a safe, confidential environment, without feedback to colleagues, line managers, headteachers or local authorities. You can access this coaching privately or as part of a package through your organisation.

Coaching has really helped me to thrive at work. Just knowing I am going to be talking to my coach once each term makes me feel supported and it is great having someone completely outside of my school. I feel I can be totally myself. I am glad I have made this investment in myself.

Performance Coaching

Many leaders know that coaching is a highly effective and sustainable way to enable and empower staff to bring about the organisation's vision and meet targets. Many schools and early years settings lack in-house capacity to establish coaching systems. Best Practice Network can offer a package of coaching for individuals and teams to meet these needs.

Through coaching, I have been able to see why my communication with my 1st year teacher was not effective. I have changed my approach and now he is on board with our ideas for the department. Another thing is that I am using the same approach with my class. For the first time they were completely on task... wonderful!
