ILM Level 3 Award in Workplace Coaching for Team Leaders and First Line Managers

This three day programme spread over six months is accredited via the production of an assessed portfolio which must be completed within a year. It introduces candidates to the principles and concepts underpinning effective coaching and mentoring, enables them to practice and get feedback on a range of coaching and mentoring styles and examines in a practical way different applications to lead and support others.

Who is this for: 

The programme will be of benefit for those people who have responsibility for mentoring or coaching others up to middle management level. There are no formal entry requirements but candidates will normally be practicing team leaders or first line managers. Exceptional learners, who have no formal qualification in team leading or first line management, but who have several years' experience and have completed some formal training in the role, may also participate.

The ILM Level 3 Award in Workplace Coaching for Team Leaders and First Line Managers aims to provide practising and potential team leaders and first line managers with the knowledge, skills and confidence to perform effectively as workplace coaches as part of their normal work role.

The programme will enable you to:

How is it assessed: 

To obtain the ILM Award candidates must:

  • Attend all three workshops
  • Carry out six hours of work-based coaching
  • Complete three pieces of written work each between 1,500 to 2,500 words

  • 3 face to face workshops
  • Online 'Skillset' module
  • Online discussion forum
  • Tutorial support

Each workshop will run from 9.30am to 4.30pm. Lunch will be provided on each day and refreshments made available on arrival and during mid-morning and afternoon breaks.
