October EYP update
Autumn is here and we hope you are enjoying the crunchy leaves and autumnal landscapes (and town and cityscapes). It is a lovely time to be outside with the children isn't it?
Do you have any photos of your outdoor environment in autumn you could email us, perhaps with a caption from you or the children?
Our EYP conference on 13th November
We now have 48 registrations and a few more places for those of you who would like to come along. Please go to www.bestpracticenet.co.uk/booking/EYP-network-conference to register. We look forward to seeing you there.
Case studies
Thank you to all of you who have sent us your case study - it is great to find out about your highlights in working towards EYPS and how it has impacted your practice since. We are always looking for more positive stories, so please let us have your story too (download a template for the case studies). The first five people who submit case studies this month will receive a free place at this year's EYP conference!
EYE Magazine
Have you been reading Early Years Educator (EYE) and the Best Practice Network sponsored EYPS pages? If you have, you will have read some stories from our EYPs.
If you have ideas for a short article, please email them to maureen.lee@bestpracticenet.co.uk with any photos to illustrate your text. Your text can be quite short (or quite long) - all contributions gratefully received and you will then see your name in print!
Best Practice Network early years programmes
We have developed a set of leadership and other professional development programmes specifically for early years settings. We can organise training days for individual settings or for several settings who join together. Some of these can be on any day of the week (including a Saturday if you wish) and can be based in your setting. The courses available include:
Forthcoming title in the Achieving EYPS series from Learning Matters - your help is requested
Mary Whalley (one of our tutors and assessors from Leeds) and Shirley Allen (from Middlesex University) are about to co-write a further book in the 'Achieving EYPS' series (Learning Matters). This time it is focused on supporting pedagogy and practice and very closely linked (though not exclusively so) to the set of EYP Standards on 'Effective Practice'.
As in the 'Leading Practice' book, Mary would very much like to use 'real' case studies from Best Practice Network EYPs. If you would like to help, please complete and return the questionnaire by 27th November. Your input will be credited in the book when it is published.
EYPS registrations for September and January
We are delighted that so many candidates have come forward to train to become EYPs. Thank you for your recommendations.
Keep in touch
We hope you enjoy the rest of the Autumn. Please keep in touch with any ideas you have for our EYP Network. We are always pleased to hear from you with any suggestions and success stories. Email them to: maureen.lee@bestpracticenet.co.uk
