Early Years Professional Status (EYPS) - Appeals Process

Best Practice Network has every confidence in their procedures and assessors but if you are unhappy with the results of your assessment Best Practice Network has a formal process of appeal which you may wish to use. However, before taking this step, we suggest you discuss your position with our lead assessor, Maureen Lee, who will be happy to advise you.

The accuracy of the judgment that you have not provided sufficient evidence against all the standards will have been confirmed by a team of moderators. However, you may appeal if you consider that due process was not followed in the conduct of your assessment. You should use Appeal against assessment outcome form to submit your appeal and do so within two working weeks of being notified of the outcome of your assessment.

Your appeal will be considered by a Best Practice Network panel, which will comprise a Director of Best Practice Network, a lead or senior assessor and a further panel member. A decision on your appeal will be reached and communicated to you within four working weeks of its receipt.

If your appeal is unsuccessful, you have the right of further appeal. We shall also be happy to advise you of the best routes then available to you to secure EYPS status.
