HLTA appeal procedure

Should you be dissatisfied with the outcome of your assessment, Best Practice Network has a formal process of appeal which you may wish to use. However, before taking this step, we suggest you discuss your position with our lead assessor/programme leader as mentioned in your results letter who will be happy to advise you.

The accuracy of the judgement that you have not provided sufficient evidence against all the standards was confirmed by a team of moderators. However, you may appeal if you consider that due process was not followed in the conduct of your assessment. You should use this form to submit your appeal and do so within two working weeks of being notified of the outcome of your assessment.

Your appeal will be considered by a Best Practice Network panel, which will comprise a Director of Best Practice Network, a lead or senior assessor and a further panel member. A decision on your appeal will be reached and communicated to you within four working weeks of its receipt.

If your appeal is unsuccessful, you have the right of further appeal to the Training and Development Agency for Schools. We shall also be happy to advise you of the best routes then available to you to secure HLTA status.
