Leadership Pathways Application Guidance

LP skills day 1Registration is completed online during fixed dates for each cohort and must be completed by both the participant and coach for an application to be accepted. Please set aside about 15-20 minutes to do this as dipping in and out can lead to technical problems later. Participants will need their DFES number and School LA number to hand before starting and should have identified the school based coach. If you do not have a DFES number, but work in a state school in England, please select 'school in the UK (not England)' when prompted on the registration form. Participants must have gained their headteacher's permission before applying.

It will simplify the process and save time if participants include a direct email for their coach when prompted because the coach will be sent an automatic email with a link to complete their part of the registration. The coach form will appear to be the same as that for an applicant but the registration will save as a coach registration and all questions must be answered.

Existing coaches need to re-register (this is a change to previous cohort registrations). If coaches enter their username, the form will pre-populate.

Please check all spelling and typing, especially email and personal details, because it can be impossible to change them after the forms have been completed. Allow 1-2 months after the registration deadline for NCSL to issue you with access and passwords.

Interested in a Collaborative Group?

If your schools are interested in a collaborative group please email the Leadership Pathways Team at lp@bestpracticenet.co.uk or telephone 0117 9209205 or 9209206.

How much does it cost?

The cost of the programme for applicants starting in September 2008 is £490 (VAT exempt) per participant (independent schools pay the full non-subsidised rate of £1520). For schools with 100 pupils or less the programme is free and normal subsidies for small schools apply.

Small schools with up to 100 pupils are entitled to a full subsidy from NCSL and up to £150 per day for supply cover, 25p mileage, and school-based coach cover for their attendance at the coach and core days. This will be reimbursed directly by NCSL at the end of the programme.
