National Award for SEN Coordination
The Department for Education (DfE) regulations require school governing bodies to ensure that SENCOs who are new to the role undertake the National Award for SEN Coordination.
Our programme:
- is work-based and practical
- is flexible and personalised
- starts in both the autumn and spring terms
- will take around one year
- is accredited at 60 Master's level credits
Who is eligible?
All SENCOs in Primary and Secondary schools new to the role from September 2008 are fully funded through a TDA grant. The programme is also available on a school/self funded
basis to:
- SENCOs working in maintained special schools, PRUs and independent schools
- Experienced SENCOs who want to gain the National Award for SEN Coordination
