Peer Review Training for Leaders in Education offers essential skills training for senior practitioners and leaders in education. The programme is based on the current model for Ofsted Inspectors, with focus on key issues that directly impact on school leaders’ accountability, and contain practical help in preparing for a future Ofsted inspection.
This programme is for leaders of education who are responsible for school reviews, in particular peer-to-peer reviews, and those who undertake strategic reviews in their own schools or academy trusts.
What are the benefits?
The programme will provide trainees with the skills and knowledge to complete a strategic review enabling them to confidently use the latest Ofsted Common Inspection Framework and criteria to make robust evaluative judgments and write executive review summaries.
Trainees will not only develop these skills in their own school but also work in partner schools to support system wide strategic improvement. Trainees will be granted access to a 360° leadership diagnostic based upon the latest national leadership standards and competencies laid out by the National College for Teaching and Leadership.
How is it delivered?
Delivery covers the equivalent of one term and will include:
An online orientation module supported by a professional portfolio and regular web conferencing
Two days face-to-face training to develop a practical understanding of the latest common inspection framework and relevant professional competencies
Work based activities in own school and a partnering school supported by a personal mentor
Follow-up face-to-face event covering creation of summary reports and provision of feedback and support for strategic planning

The programme fee is £990+VAT per trainee.
