About our Apprenticeships
Best Practice Network is one of the leading apprenticeship providers across England, offering fully funded apprenticeships designed to help teaching assistants (TAs) at all stages of their career. Whether you're looking to start with a Level 3 Apprenticeship, specialise with a Level 5 Specialist TA Apprenticeship, or advance with HLTA status, we provide a clear and supportive pathway.
Funding through the Apprenticeship Levy
For the vast majority of schools in England, apprenticeships are funded through the Apprenticeship Levy. Here’s how it works:
- Maintained Schools: Your Local Authority (LA) holds the Apprenticeship Levy account.
- Academies: The Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) is the Apprenticeship Levy account holder.
If you’re unsure how to access or utilise your funding, our team is here to assist with all Apprenticeship Levy-related support.
Programme Delivery & Tutor Support
Our apprenticeship programmes are delivered by experienced tutors across England who visit apprentices every 6 weeks. These visits are designed to:
- Review progress and provide individual support.
- Offer guidance throughout the apprenticeship to ensure successful completion.
Blended Learning Approach
Our apprenticeships are taught through a blended learning model, combining:
- Monthly online webinars for flexibility.
- Online resources and coursework to ensure comprehensive learning.
- Regular tutor visits to provide hands-on support.
- Apprentices are also encouraged to maintain an online journal to reflect on their learning and apply it to their practice.
Work-Based Training
As a work-based training programme, up to 20% of an apprentice’s working week is dedicated to development and training. This ensures that practical application of learning happens alongside day-to-day work in the classroom.
End Point Assessment
Upon completion of the apprenticeship coursework, an external company conducts an End Point Assessment (EPA) to assess apprentices’ overall competency and readiness to progress in their careers.
Developing skilled teaching assistants through focused training and real-world experience
At Best Practice Network, we’ve been helping teaching assistants (TAs) thrive in their roles for over 20 years. Whether you're just starting out, looking to specialise, or aiming to move into teaching, we offer nationally recognised, fully funded courses designed to support your goals.
