Who are The CareTech Group? 

The CareTech Group have an Education Team that comprises of 43 schools and 4 colleges (post 16) across England, Wales and Scotland.  These schools operate under a number of different companies within the CareTech Childrens Services Division. Our schools and colleges support over 1,000 children and young people whose needs include: Autistic Spectrum Disorders; Asperger Syndrome; Moderate or Severe Learning Difficulties and Disabilities; Complex Trauma; and Social, Emotional, Mental Health Needs (SEMH) most young people have associated challenging behaviours.

We support almost all young people with SEND, irrespective of their acuity of need. Our residential settings also have a clinical team, including psychology, speech language and communication, occupational therapy and mental health support.  Our schools and colleges are rated (or aspire to be rated) good or outstanding by the national regulatory bodies.

 


 

Postgraduate Teacher Apprenticeships

The Teacher Apprenticeship is designed for graduates employed in schools who want to gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) while continuing to work.

Teaching Assistant Apprenticeships

Our programme offers a flexible approach to learning for both the school and learner, whereby all learners will gain the fundamental knowledge and develop the skills required to support teachers to enhance pupil learning.

They will learn how to promote self-belief, social inclusion and a high self-esteem. Learning gained will include a greater knowledge and understanding of whole class teaching that will support potential progression to Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) status. Learners will also be able to personalise their pathways based on their choice of specialist area(s).

Our programme offers a flexible approach to learning for both schools and learners, with a strong emphasis on the SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) pathway. This ensures that all learners acquire the fundamental knowledge and skills needed to support teachers in enhancing pupil learning, both in groups and individually. By doing so, learners help ensure that pupils understand their assignments, know their learning objectives, and stay focused to make progress.

The Specialist Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Level 5 is a 18-month long apprenticeship that prepares individuals to support learners across various educational settings, including primary, secondary, special schools, and further education institutions.

The  Leader Apprenticeship with NPQLTD is a dual award which has mapped the DfE's NPQ for Leading Teacher Development (NPQLTD) to the Level 3 Team Leader Apprenticeship. This combination means learners concurrently earn two highly prestigious qualifications.
