The role
Working alongside qualified Early Years Practitioners and professionals, you will work towards completing an Early Years Educator Level 3 apprenticeship. You will be planning and providing effective care for children ages 0-5 years.
The Apprenticeship
The Early Years Educator Level 3 apprenticeship is an 18-month programme that you will complete alongside your day-to-day work. You will roughly spend 6 hours per week on training including webinars, shadowing, Apprenticeship tutor visits and online tasks for modules. Spring Childcare have lots of employment and development opportunities available after you have finished your apprenticeship. They are passionate about promoting exceptional practitioners and many of their management team have also started off as apprentices.
Spring by Action for Children are a member of the Care Leavers Covenant. The Covenant is a promise made by private, public or voluntary organisations to provide support for care leavers aged 16-25 to help them to live independently.
In order to provide a greater level of support at the crucial stage during the transition of care leavers to adulthood, wider society also needs to play a part, which is where the Care Leaver Covenant comes in.
Their commitments are to:
• Work with the Care Leaver Covenant team to promote opportunities to the care leaver community through targeted means• Work with staff in the organisation to become advocates, particularly in the Recruitment Service and Children’s Services. To support care experienced applicants and employees; before, during and after the recruitment process
• Offer a guaranteed interview and constructive feedback to applicants who identify as care experienced and who meet the minimum criteria for the role
• Assign a workplace buddy for our care experience employees. A workplace buddy will be there for informal support, guidance and to help them settle in
• Create and communicate clear boundaries and expectations for our care experienced employees. This will make sure their time with us is a growing and challenging one
• Approach care experienced employees’ professional challenges with compassion and empathy, recognising that there may be, or have been, a high level of disruption in their personal lives

- If you are eligible and meet the criteria (including the Care Leaver and Disability Confident criteria) The team will arrange an interview with Spring Action for Children. This may include a settling in day at the nursery.
- If you are offered the role. You will go through inductions with Spring Childcare and we will enrol you in the Early Years Educator Level 3 Apprenticeship that will begin in September 2024.

Early Years Career Pathway
As part of our Early Years initiative, learners who wish to become early years professionals, or those already working in this area of education, can take part in our programmes and advance onto other qualifications related to early years and child care. This initiative supports you in achieving your own ambitions and allows you to gain the skills required to support the next generation in being able to reach theirs.
We have developed our Early Years Career Pathway to support your career development in the early years sector and to take into account the variety of roles available.
This pathway includes the following programmes: Early Years Practitioner (EYP) Apprenticeship Level 2, Early Years Educator (EYE) Apprenticeship Level 3, Early Years Lead Practitioner (EYLP) Level 5 and Early Years Initial Teacher Training (EYITT) (eligible with a degree top-up).
