Thrive-informed Educator Training: Supporting Wellbeing and Behaviour in the Classroom
Thrive-informed Educator Training: Supporting Wellbeing and Behaviour in the Classroom
Starting your teacher training is an exciting step, and one that’s about much more than mastering curriculum and lesson plans. At Best Practice Network, we believe great teaching begins with strong relationships, emotional awareness and the ability to create a classroom where every pupil feels safe and ready to learn.
That’s why all our Fee-Funded Initial Teacher Training and secondary Postgraduate Teacher Apprentices take part in Thrive-informed Educator Training, a short, practical programme designed to help you understand the “why” behind behaviour and develop the skills to respond with confidence and compassion.
What You'll Learn
Over the course of four live sessions and one introductory module, you’ll explore how wellbeing and behaviour are deeply connected. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of:
-
How trauma and life experiences shape children’s behaviour and relationships
-
Practical ways to build trust, structure and belonging in your classroom
-
Techniques for managing stress, staying calm under pressure and communicating effectively
-
How to create emotionally safe learning environments where pupils can thrive
The sessions are interactive and reflective, giving you the chance to link what you learn to real classroom experiences.
Why This Matters
When you understand what’s driving a pupil’s behaviour, you can respond in ways that build connection instead of conflict. This training helps you approach every situation with empathy, awareness and clear professional boundaries, the hallmarks of an effective teacher.
By the end of the course, you’ll not only have a toolkit of strategies to support wellbeing and behaviour, but also the confidence to use them in your everyday teaching practice.
Delivered by experienced Thrive trainers, this programme forms part of your teacher training journey with Best Practice Network. It equips you with the knowledge, mindset and relational skills to support every young person to learn and succeed, and to look after your own wellbeing along the way.
